AnkiMaxer Privacy Policy
Last updated June 23, 2026.
This policy applies to the AnkiMaxer browser extension (for Chrome and Safari) and its companion AnkiMaxer Helper Anki add-on. In short: AnkiMaxer does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data. It runs entirely on your own computer.
What the extension accesses
- When you click the AnkiMaxer toolbar button on a UWorld or Bootcamp question page, the extension reads that page’s question identifier or topic, only at that moment, and only to find the matching Anki cards.
- Your list of exams and your preferences are stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local).
Where your data goes
Nowhere but your own machine. The extension communicates only with the AnkiMaxer Helper add-on running locally in Anki at 127.0.0.1 (localhost). Nothing is sent to the developer or any third party.
What we do not do
- No analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, or session recording.
- No accounts, logins, or advertising.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of data: there is no data to share.
- No external or cloud servers; AnkiMaxer has no backend.
Permissions
AnkiMaxer requests only what it needs for the above: on-demand access to the current question tab (activeTab / scripting) when you click the button, local storage for your exam list, and a connection to your local Anki at 127.0.0.1:8766. It does not request access to your browsing history or to other websites.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change with it.
